The teacher understands and uses multiple methods of assessment to
engage learners in their own growth, to monitor learner progress, and
to guide the teacher’s and learner’s decision making.
This is something I feel I need to
work on. Multiple methods of assessment
is something I feel that I need to become diverse on. I am hoping the use of
online assessment may be something that may help me with that.
In regards to technology I am hoping real time
feedback from online assessments would help students in understanding of their grasp of the
concept we are working on. I observed this with
use of google docs from a science teacher in Canby high school. It was pretty amazing and the level of
engagement was very high in using ipads in a dissection they were doing. The followup lab questions were very interesting in how they were implemented using the ipad with immediate feedback on many of the questions. Student feedback was very positive in the use of ipads as a tool in helping them in the lab dissection.
Interesting! But I will admit, my first thought was: iPads and dissection, sounds potentially very messy and not very happy for the iPads! =-) Would be curious to know how that worked . . .
